Day 220: On Dec 4th of the home improvement project I moved bookshelves
from the basement back into Joyce's Room of Requirement. The IKEA Billy
bookshelves cover up AC outlets on the walls so I came up with a
workaround. I routed out a hole in the toe kick of each bookshelf and
installed an AC outlet there. I cut the outlet end off of an extension
cord and connected that to the toe kick AC outlet. These are then plugged
into the wall outlets behind the bookshelves effectively making them
available. It was a bit tricky getting the shelves from the basement to the main floor. Joyce and I worked out all the required twists and turns of furniture. Using the furniture dolly helped a lot. Getting the shelves up the stairs was tricky, but we got it done without damaging anything! (Including ourselves!) |
