2009 11 28 - Holiday Stroll in Downtown Nashua

HOME
For the past 16 years the City of Nashua has sponsored the "Holiday Stroll" the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Below is the program of events giving a map of downtown Nashua. The normal flow is for everyone to gather at City Hall where candles are given out. Everyone then "strolls" north on Main Street to Railroad Square where the City's Christmas Tree (or do I have to say "Holiday Tree"?) is lit. After that there are events all over the place. There was a lot of wind this year that made it impossible to keep a candle lit. The tree was supposed to be lit at 5:40, but for some reason they did it early, because we were there just before 5:40. We always look forward to "fried dough" as a treat. We then headed over to "Ewe'll Love It" to hear the entertainment there. After that was done we went to the Court Street Theatre. My main reason for going there was to listen to the Compaq Band at 8:35. We suffered through the "Peacock Players" hour of terrible improvisation. I actually napped intentionally. The band was great, just like they've been the last three years I attended their concerts.
